Boko Haram| President Buhari Met with the Governor of Borno State

Borno Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum was at the presidential villa in Abuja on Thursday for one-on-one meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.

Information from the governor’s media team, said the meeting focused Borno’s fight against boko haram towards peace building, rebuilding, resettlement of displaced persons and economic recovery.

Zulum left Maiduguri on Thursday through a special flight arrangement that falls in line with presidential directives over the COVID-19 lockdown of Abuja in which movements over critical matters are exempted from the restrictions.

During the closed door meeting, Governor Zulum briefed the president on state of affairs in Borno state.

Covid-19| Lagos Govt Took Delivery of More Disinfectant Equipment [Photos]

Lagos State Government took delivery of more disinfectant equipment as part of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s aggressive efforts to combat the novel Coronavirus in the State. The fumigation machines, which are in their hundreds would be deployed to every part of the metropolis for sterilization of public surfaces.

Pictures from Abule Ado Explosion that Rock Festac Town

An alleged pipeline explosion has occurred at the Abule-Ado area around Festac town in Amuwo Odofin Local Government area of Lagos State.

The massive blast reportedly rocked neighboring areas, sparking a massive blaze that has destroyed nearby buildings including a school.

Plumes of smoke have been seen rising into the sky, but our correspondent on the scene says the area has been cordoned off. An eyewitness told channelsTV correspondent that a tipper offloading sand caught fire, which spread to a nearby pipeline, triggering the blast.

The director-general of LASEMA Dr Femi Osanyintolu confirmed that the pipeline had earlier been vandalized by unknown persons. Many nearby houses have been destroyed by the blaze while the explosion damaged buildings around the area and its environs.

The Lagos State Fire Service says there are buildings on fire in Ado Soba, Abule-Ado, and Amuwo-Odo.
